Boris the Dragon

Earlier this year I had the priviledge of being asked to create a window display for the infamous Rose Chongs Costumiers on Gertrude street, Fitzroy, Melbourne. After going instore to find costumes during production of the GG clip.

It took two months for Jesse and I to build the giant dragon Boris once complete he had animatronic eyes, he required two pupeteers inside to control his legs, neck and mouth movements. It was quite the task to build a dragon from scratch!  He is the size of a small car! All the fidly hours of glueing and sticking paid off, especially creating his skin with bathroom silicon and pigments allowing his jaw to move with a silky satin tongue.

At the end of filming our gigantic project in the Australian outback with our giant dragon in tow, We disassembled and cut him in half for the display window. Proud parents of a dragon I say!
